Goodbye to the Good Girl
Goodbye to the Good Girl is a course that challenges the idea that women must be nice, polite and accommodating in order to succeed in the world. It’s about uncovering the expectations and rules we’re living up to. One’s we’ve internalised to the point that we’ve stopped seeing them as rules and started just assuming that’s just the way life ‘should’ be.
The course is about deconstructing and releasing anything that’s holding you back from being authentically yourself, and making new choices. Choices that emanate from freedom rather than oppression.
‘One is not born but rather becomes a woman’ Simone De Beauvoir
Goodbye to the Good Girl is 7 day short course that supports you in releasing the learned behaviours and limitations of childhood so that you can step into your power as a woman who knows her own mind and her own desires.
7 daysThe short course 'Goodbye to the Good Girl' runs for 7 days. Each day you'll receive an email with prompts to support you in reflecting on a different aspect of the good girl and how she impacts on your life.
Self inquiry, meditation, healingYou'll be prompted to self inquiry, and guided through healing techniques and meditations, so that you might not only see, but clear out, old habits and behaviours and free yourself of the binds of the good girl forever.
Authentically freeYou can expect to walk away from the course feeling lighter, clearer, and more in touch with the most authentic parts of you. You can expect to feel bolder and less concerned about what other people think or say about you. You can expect to walk away with more confidence to speak up and be seen for who you are in the world, without fear or favour.
The course costs USD$95 (plus GST for Australians and VAT for Europeans) and all purchases are non-refundable. Upon registration you’ll receive automatic access to the course so you can start immediately.
I think Sam is a miracle worker, pioneer in her field and its a blessing to have access to her support and intelligent inquiry.

Day 1: The Angel in the House
At the essence of the good girl is a woman who has been stripped of her sovereignty. This forms our investigation for day 1.
Day 2: Keeping the image in play
The good girl cannot exist without the image she keeps in play. On day 2 we dive deeply into what that image looks like for you.
Day 3: Monstrous betrayal
One of the key characteristics of the good girl is that she doesn’t rock the boat. On day 3 we investigate the implications of this and the ways it will often result in monstrous betrayals of herself and the sisterhood.

Day 4: I'll be more visible when
When being good doesn’t pan out for the good girl – when it doesn’t see her achieving the results she wants – she can turn to other strategies. One such strategy is the perfectionist. Our inner perfectionist is what we work on releasing on day 4.
Day 5: Permission from whom?
More than anything our inner good girl needs permission. Permission to listen to her inner self. Permission to choose for herself. Permission to be herself without all the internal restriction. This forms the starting point of our inquiry on day 5.
Day 6: Internalising the patriarchy
One of the least attractive features of the good girl is her willingness to not only maintain, but defend a system that doesn’t support her. This often comes out as an immediate and unnecessary defence of, or reference back to, men when someone centres a conversation around women. This is our topic of investigation on day 6.
Day 7: Embracing your wildness
On the final day of our short course we explore what remains once the good girl is released and you’re left facing your wild and authentic self. (Day 7 is a good day!)
Who It’s For
‘Goodbye to the Good Girl’ is for women who want to be free to be themselves, without apology, without compromise, without fear. It’s for women who want to release themselves from the conditioning of their pasts. It’s for women who want to be released from societal expectations and inherited patterns from their ancestors.
It’s for women who want to know what it is to be free of constraint and who want to live from that place for the rest of their lives.
Who It’s By
The course was created by Samantha Nolan-Smith, founder and CEO of The School of Visibility. Combining my background as a lawyer and public policy advisor with my training in personal and spiritual development, I’ve developed a unique and repeatable approach to overcoming visibility barriers. It’s this unique approach and signature techniques that inform it, that I share in this course. You can learn more about me here.
I really like that visibility has been approached from a much deeper, richer, intellectual perspective – the history of women and power which I really connect with and is very motivating.
