I want to talk to you about a revolution that’s happening and it’s happening in business and its being led by women.
It’s happening online and it’s bringing together two worlds. The world of spirituality and personal development, with the world of marketing and sales and product development.
And it’s saying that these don’t need to be separate.
I’m Samantha Nolan Smith. I’m a spiritual mentor and business alignment coach.
I the last five years that I have been running my business, I’ve been working with women around the integration of these worlds. Worlds that were treated as separate parts of ourselves. And we’ve been bringing the very best of both worlds and finding a way to not just be connected and communing and really feeling spiritually and emotionally fulfilled and open, but also being really practical and achieving and realising goals and being able to implement in the material world.
I started this investigation because my own life really propelled me to do that. I was on a seesaw.
And I was heavily on the side of the mind and the thinking and academics and really trying to push to get things done and definitely in the space of control.
And that worked for me for a while, in fact I got a Law degree, I got an Arts degree, I very quickly moved through the ranks in the public sector and I ended up as an Executive Director in that space.
And then I got very sick and in getting sick I was forced to stop and I mean flat-out stop for months on end, I couldn’t get out of bed.
So if we take the seesaw analogy, I had been right down on this side. I’d really been focusing on pushing and getting things done and really effort-ing to realise my goals and ambitions. And the sickness just went ‘pwah’.
It pushed me right down to stop and surrender and allow. Of course I was really, initially, trying to climb back and get back onto the other side, as I was not comfortable in that space of stopping.
But over time I did learn to stop, it took me four years to recover from the chronic fatigue that I had. And in that time I really learned to, not just how to stop at a physical level of ‘I can’t do anything’, but at a nervous system level.
I learned about how to really relax the body, I found that my cortisol had kind have been shooting through my body from an early age. And I learned so many spiritual tools and techniques to help me really settle back into a space of grounded-ness and wholeness, and be able to open and access a very different way of being and a way of understanding the world.
From there I started my own business.
I started teaching people who were like me, on this side of the seesaw, about how to get a bit of balance, about how to use those spiritual tools and teachings that I had learned and really find some balance so they weren’t left really stressed out and overwhelmed, and getting things done. But getting them done in a way that wasn’t sustainable and wasn’t really enjoyable.
In running my own business, I really was more on this side of the seesaw.
I was really more focused on allowing and surrender, and I was really more committed to exploring ‘Can I run a business from that space?’
And this is what I found; I found that it can’t be either/or. It has to be both.
This isn’t a question of either I’m spiritual and I’m om-ing and I’m meditating and I’m communing with the Goddesses, or I’m operating in the business world and talking about money and social media, and marketing techniques and strategies.
They have to come together.
Because what happens when they don’t is you either end up well off into ‘woo-woo land’ where you are not able to implement really practically in the world. And so you have these beautiful gifts, these beautiful tools and you’re very giving probably. You’re adding huge value to people who are coming to you, to see you. But you’re not having the reach, the impact that you should be having. And your business isn’t thriving in a way that it could have thrived.
Or on the other hand you’re successful in business and you’re operating well in the world but you’re feeling that there’s something missing. None of it’s connected to your heart or to your soul. And so it feels soulless. It feels lonely.
And so this is what I’ve been doing, working with women, either side of the seesaw to bring them back to some level of balance.
So I have been teaching various programs over the years about the Chakras. And the Chakras are energy channels, which are located along the spine in the body. There are other chakras but for the purposes of the program that I have been teaching, I focus on the main seven.
And each of them has wisdom.
Each of them tells us something about ourselves.
Each of them gives us a place to stop and reflect and understand what we’re doing in our lives; where we’re blocked and where we’re open.
And when you investigate the chakras, they give you a roadmap for personal evolution but they also give you a roadmap for business evolution.
They give you a roadmap for evolution for whatever topic you want to apply to it. That’s the beauty of the chakras.
And so they’re very practical.
It’s the perfect marriage of the deep practical wisdom that yogis have brought into and onto this planet, with our everyday lives. And in this case, running businesses in a way that really gives you what you’re looking for in a business.
Creative freedom, financial freedom, a lifestyle that you’ve always dreamt about.
The chakras can help you achieve that.
